Experience that spans the healthcare landscape

From emerging healthcare companies to established industry leaders, Pursuit has supported organizations across the industry with the talent research and recruiting support needed to navigate complex hiring challenges.

What We Understand

Healthcare search has it's own realities

After more than a decade of healthcare searches, these are the things we plan every search around.

Deep Network

Over the years, we've developed significant relationships throughout the healthcare landscape, including value-based care, digital health, healthcare analytics, remote patient monitoring, post-acute care, and consulting. These relationships give us access to an established network of industry professionals and the ability to reach people who may be difficult to find through traditional recruiting channels.

Understanding your business

We recognize that every healthcare organization faces different challenges. Reimbursement pressures, regulatory requirements, operating margins, growth expectations, and organizational constraints all influence hiring decisions. We take the time to understand your business, where you're going, and the types of people who can help you get there.

Meaningful conversations

Understanding healthcare allows us to engage candidates on a different level. We can speak intelligently about their organizations, markets, challenges, and opportunities, creating more relevant conversations with experienced professionals. Rather than simply presenting an opportunity, we can communicate why it matters and understand what motivates someone to consider a move.

Industry fluency

We understand the complexity of the healthcare landscape and the many different sectors, business models, and specialties that make up the industry. From value-based care and healthcare technology to post-acute services, analytics, and provider organizations, our experience allows us to navigate the nuances of the market and understand where different organizations fit within it.

How We Work

Recruiting Model that Adapts to Your Needs

Every organization has different talent needs. Whether you're filling a critical leadership role, building an entire team, or developing a pipeline for future growth, we tailor our approach to the work that needs to get done. From initial research through candidate engagement, you have visibility into the process, the progress, and the cost.

Understand the business and hiring needs

We start by understanding your organization, hiring objectives, and the challenges behind the need. We work with key stakeholders to define the requirements, establish priorities, and determine what success looks like.

Research the market and identify talent

We take a targeted, research-first approach to identifying talent. We map relevant organizations, understand how teams are structured, identify qualified professionals, and develop a clear picture of the available talent market.

Engage the right people

Rather than relying on job postings or automated outreach, we approach qualified professionals directly. Each conversation is informed by the individual's background, experience, and potential interest in the opportunity.

Assessment and shortlist

We help evaluate relevant experience, understand career motivations, and assess alignment with your needs. You'll receive qualified candidate profiles, market intelligence, compensation insights, and regular updates on what we're seeing.

Stay involved as needs evolve

Hiring priorities can change, and our model allows us to adjust accordingly. We work alongside your team throughout the engagement, providing visibility into activity, candidate progress, and costs, with no placement fees or long-term commitments.

A more flexible cost structure

Pay for the work performed, not a percentage of someone's salary. No retainers, placement fees, or long-term commitments. Estimates and weekly cost updates keep spending predictable.

Transparency throughout

See the research, outreach, candidate activity, and progress as the engagement unfolds. You're never left wondering what is happening behind the scenes.

You own the work product

Retain the candidate information, market research, competitive intelligence, and insights developed during the engagement. The value extends beyond the immediate hire.

FAQs

Before you get in touch

From CEOs to the specialists behind growing teams, we fill roles and the results behind them.

Do you only work in healthcare?

No. Most of our clients are in healthcare, and we also run searches for technology, financial services, professional sports and manufacturing organizations.

Which healthcare roles do you fill?

C-suite, SVP, VP and Director roles across clinical, growth, compliance, finance, people and technology functions. We also fill specialist roles such as actuaries and counsel, and build whole teams, such as analytics teams.

Who will run our search?

Lee Skaggs, our founder. He leads every engagement himself, from the first conversation to the final offer, rather than handing it to a junior team.

How does hourly billing work?

You pay for the hours we work on your search, with no placement fee. Before you commit, you get an estimate, and you see costs updated every week as the search runs.

Could hourly end up costing more than a traditional fee?

It rarely does. Because you see costs every week, there are no surprises, and searches typically cost less than half of a traditional percentage fee.

How do you find candidates who aren’t looking?

We map the organizations and leaders who match your brief, then approach each person directly with a message written for them. We don’t post jobs or send automated messages.

Can you run a confidential search?

Yes. Confidential searches are often needed around mergers and leadership transitions. They run on the same hourly model.

What do we keep at the end of a search?

Everything we produce: market insights, competitive intelligence, search metrics and candidate data. It stays with you for your next hire.
